    Job Summary: The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care in collaboration with healthcare professionals, conducting assessments, administering medications and treatments, providing health education, coordinating referrals, and responding appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
    • Certifications:
      • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert
    • License: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
    • Experience: Must have 1 year of experience in Cardiology, Pulmonary, or Sleep in the last 5 years.

    U.S. Citizenship is required

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality, and cost effectiveness.
    • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.
    • Perform physical exam and health histories.
    • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
    • Administer medications and numerous other personalized interventions.
    • Direct and supervise care provide by other healthcare professionals.
    • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
    • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans actions, for teaching education to benefit the patient family and organization.
    • Make referral appointments follow-ups and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
    • Perform nursing services identified in the TO.
    • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.

    Work Environment & Schedule: The schedule or scheduling process is as follows:

    • Shifts may be 9 or 10-hour shift which includes a 1-hour non-paid lunch each day, not to exceed 40 hours per week.
    • Pulmonary Clinic (Lackland): Monday-Friday 0730 to 1630.

    Physical requirements: The position requires the physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, transfer, and reposition patients throughout extended shifts while safely operating medical equipment and performing direct patient care. The RN must also have the stamina, manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity, and ability to respond quickly to emergencies, including performing CPR and participating in rapid response and resuscitation efforts.
