    Job Description and Performance Standards

    Title: RN Level I - 553652000

    Department: PACU

    Reports To: Director, Surgical Services

    JOB SUMMARY

    Provides direct patient care to the patients in the post anesthesia setting using the nursing process. Must be able to manage the care of assigned patients and cope with rapid patient turnover and high census. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to patients of all ages.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program or will obtain prior to working as a RN. Successful completion of the Basic Arrhythmia Class, Moderate Sedation Class, ACLS, and PALS within 90 days of hire.

    Licensure: Current Georgia RN or a multi-state license meeting eNLC criteria professional licensure or will obtain prior to beginning work as a RN. BLS CPR required

    Experience: Prior ICU or PACU experience preferred.

    Skills: Routine and critical care nursing skills.

    PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS

    Prolonged walking and standing required, with the ability to lift and move patients. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to tolerate rapid patient turnover and high census. Works in typical PACU setting with patients experiencing a wide range of surgical procedures and anesthetics. Required to work an on call schedule.
