Registered Nurse (RN) – Primary Care

Location: Pineville / South Charlotte, NC
Pay: $35–$43/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Setting: Primary Care / Outpatient

An established primary care practice in the Pineville/South Charlotte area is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its clinical team. This position is ideal for an RN who enjoys hands-on patient care, nurse triage, patient education, and coordinating care for patients with both acute and chronic conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients, obtain medical histories and vital signs, and document findings in the EHR

• Provide nursing care in accordance with clinical guidelines and established standards

• Administer medications and provider-ordered treatments

• Start IVs, administer IV fluids, and monitor patient responses

• Educate patients and families regarding medications, insulin administration, inhaler use, and acute and chronic condition management

• Complete medication refills, prior authorizations, forms, and electronic orders

• Monitor quality measures related to acute and chronic patient care

• Respond to urgent walk-in clinical concerns, including chest pain, fainting, and hypoglycemia

• Participate in emergency response procedures when necessary

• Support Medical Assistants and assist with patient flow during busy periods

• Delegate appropriate clinical responsibilities in accordance with the North Carolina Nurse Practice Act

Nurse Triage Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient calls escalated by Medical Assistants

• Assess symptoms and determine the appropriate level and urgency of care

• Schedule patients with a practice provider or direct them to urgent care when appropriate

• Refer patients with high-risk symptoms to the emergency department or arrange emergency transportation when necessary

• Provide approved home-care guidance when emergency treatment is not required

• Consult with providers as needed

• Document all triage advice, patient communication, and follow-up in the EHR

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred

• Active North Carolina Registered Nurse license

• Current BLS certification

• ACLS certification if required for the assigned clinical area

• Minimum of 1 year of professional RN experience

• Outpatient, ambulatory care, or primary care experience preferred

• Experience working with an electronic health record (EHR) system

• Strong clinical judgment and assessment skills

• Excellent communication, triage, and patient-service skills

Additional Requirements

Required health documentation includes TB screening and Hepatitis B and influenza vaccination records or applicable declination forms.

Candidates must be able to remain active throughout the workday, use a computer for extended periods, and lift or support up to 35 pounds.

Compensation

$35–$43 per hour, depending on experience
