• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 3 months
• Pay Rate: $77.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Day/Night rotating shift 7:00 AM 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM 7:30 AM (3x12 Hours). Shifts may be variable; if needed to meet the operational needs of the hospital, the facility will do their best to honor the traveler's preferred shift but reserves the right to rotate them if necessary.

Job Summary

This is a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) travel nursing assignment at a major hospital main campus. The role requires specialized pediatric critical care experience, including epilepsy monitoring and care of patients from infancy through 25 years of age.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized critical care nursing in the PICU setting
• Perform epilepsy monitoring and specialized care for patients of all ages up to 25 years
• Work at least every other holiday as required by the facility
• Complete ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessments during orientation; an acceptable score on both assessments is required
• Submit hours worked through Qualivis Lotus

Required Skills

• Experience with EKG rhythm recognition
• Experience with inotropes

Preferred Skills

• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred

Education Requirements

• AHA or facility-accepted BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Ohio RN License or Compact State license in hand required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (Medical/Religious exemptions only)
• Flu vaccination required (Medical/Religious exemptions only)

Required Experience

• Minimum 18 months of permanent (staff) experience in the specialty applying for, prior to travel assignments
• Minimum 18 months of recent Pediatric experience (travel experience will suffice)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Day/Night rotating 12-hour shifts (3x12)
• Traveler must work at least every other holiday
• Shift rotation may occur if required to meet the operational needs of the hospital
