Registered Nurse - PICU

Summary:

• Duration: 13 Weeks
• Shift: 12H Rotating Days/Nights or 12H Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients aged from birth to 21 years in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
• Manage a variety of diagnoses including respiratory issues, chronic childhood diseases, sepsis, TBI, DKA, seizure disorders, oncology, metabolic disorders, NAT, and surgical patients.
• Ensure proficiency in operating Trilogy & Drager ventilators, Codman ICP monitors, Medfusion syringe pumps, and Baxter large volume IV pumps.
• Float to other inpatient care areas as needed, excluding ED, OR, or inpatient Psych.

Requirements:

• Education: BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
• Licensure/Certification: Colorado RN license
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in a comparable PICU as a staff RN, or 3 years if no previous travel experience
• Certifications: BLS, PALS

Preferred Skills:

• 2 years of staff experience in a PICU
• 1 year of travel experience in a teaching facility PICU
• ACLS certification preferred
