    PACU RN

    **Pediatric volume varies daily based on the operating room schedule and emergent/trauma cases. The PACU may have 16 or more pediatric recoveries on some days and fewer than 10 on others. Travelers must be comfortable caring for patients across the lifespan, as assignments are based on daily unit needs and are not predetermined.**

    RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.

    *May recover Surgical patients in the ICU setting*

    REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:
    2 years of experience required
    Travel experience required
    Pediatric experience required
    Locals accepted at a lower rate (*** mile radius)
    Skills: Phase 1-2 PACU. Must have some ICU experience (1-2 ratings on checklist for a screen through). They will NOT be floating to the ICU, just often upgrade and manage this level of care in PACU. Additionally, we do send a PACU RN to the STICU to recover patients
    Certs: ACLS, BCLS, PALS.

    PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: Charge Nurse Experience, Conscious Sedation, FHM, ICP, Telemetry, Vents, ICU background exp prior to PACU and Pediatric Experience.

    JOB DETAILS:
    Ratios: 1:2
    Shift: 3x12 7p-7a
    RTO: 7 days max
    Call Requirement: once every 4 weeks
    Float Requirement: Float to areas of overflow patients (typically over to surgical short stay)
    Weekend Requirement: Varies
    **Pediatric experience required**

    ** Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed


    PATIENT DIAGNOSES:
    Vascular and Endovascular
    Neurosurgery and Orthopedics
    Gynocology and Urology
    General and Bariatric
    Plastics and ENT
    Opthamoogy
    Children - T&A, Ears, Hernias, Cleft Lip/Palate
    Phase II - when that unit is full

    SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS:
    - Must be willing to work with patients across lifespan. Peds experience required.
    - Phase 1 Recovery Unit that provides observation and care of the patients who have undergone surgical procedures requiring anesthesia. We receive patients directly from the OR, EP Lab, Endo, IR, MRI and patients that are ICU who need to be recovered before being admitted to the units.
    - PACU is a varied and challenging practice environment where recovery may take 30 to 90 minutes, depending on when patient reaches the criteria for discharge to Phase ll, home, post op tower or ICU.
    - Nights and w/ends we recover as well as discharge Phase II patients. Also, have overnight patients, that are tower and/or ICU.
    - PACU is open 24/7 and staffs based on the need of the OR.
