The Pediatric CICU RN provides direct patient care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, with a primary focus on critically ill patients with Congenital Heart Disease and/or who have undergone cardiac surgery. A 420+ bed hospital in Houston, TX dedicated to the health of women and children is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). The facility operates a Level IV NICU and delivers more than 800 babies per month.

The role. The Pediatric CICU RN provides direct patient care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, with a primary focus on critically ill patients with Congenital Heart Disease and/or who have undergone cardiac surgery. The nurse develops, implements, modifies, and evaluates individualized, family-centered, holistic plans of care, maintaining thorough documentation throughout. Teaching is woven into every aspect of practice, ensuring patients and families are informed and supported across the continuum of care. The nurse also contributes to unit-level initiatives and process improvement efforts within the cardiac and surgical unit.

What we're looking for.

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Associate Degree; BSN required w/6 month enrollment and 24 month completion (Magnet Hospital)
• Must have 1 year recent Pediatric ICU RN experience in an acute care hospital
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• CCRN Preferred

Schedule. Full-time, rotating days and nights with rotating weekends; shifts run 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM and 11:00 PM – 11:00 AM.

Compensation. $42.03 - $65.10/hr plus $30,000 sign-on bonus
