What Youll Do
- Provide direct patient care to medical and cardiac step-down patients, including those with respiratory failure, CVA, DKA, Sepsis, post-surgical recovery, and cardiac interventions
- Administer titrated cardiac, insulin, and vasopressor drips (e.g., Dopamine, Amiodarone, Nitro)
- Manage central lines, chest tubes, traches, drains, and perform wound care
- Utilize Meditech Expanse EMR system for documentation and charting
- Support patient safety and quality care on fast-paced units with patient ratios of 1:3-4
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RTs, CNAs, charge nurses, and hospitalists
What You Need
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or other applicable state
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications (LVAD preferred for 2 West)
- Minimum 2 years of current PCU or step-down RN experience
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
- Skills in titrating advanced cardiac and vasopressor medications, managing cardiac devices, and performing complex patient assessments
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
