What Youll Do
- Provide direct patient care to a variety of adult patients in the Stepdown/MedSurg units
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret patient data
- Administer titratable medications including Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (manager approval required for certain meds)
- Manage chest tubes, tracheostomies, and dialysis access (preferred but not required)
- Support patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and documentation using Meditech Expanse EMR
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including hospitalists, RTs, PT, OT, and ST
- Respond to emergency situations and ensure patient safety and comfort
What You Need
Required:- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- At least 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
- Proficiency with cardiac monitoring and titratable medication management
Preferred:- Experience with chest tube management, tracheostomies, and dialysis
- Flexibility to work every other weekend and holiday shifts
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
