What Youll Do
- Provide high-quality patient care for complex cases, including CVA, TIA, and Covid-19 patients
- Manage medications and IV drips such as Levophed, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin
- Monitor and manage arterial lines, CVL placement and care, Foley caths, tube feedings via NGT or PEG, and blood glucose levels
- Document patient care accurately in EMR (Meditech Expanse)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists, RT, OT, PT, and ST for comprehensive patient care
- Respond to unit needs as a resource nurse and support float to stepdown and med-surg units when needed
- Pass EKG competency exam as part of onboarding
- Adhere to hospital protocols and maintain a professional environment at all times
What You Need
Required:- Active RN license in Louisiana or ability to obtain
- 2+ years of acute care RN experience in PCU or similar units
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Experience with CVL management, arterial lines, and drip titration (Levophed, Amiodarone, Insulin)
- Ability to pass EKG competency exam
Preferred:- Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR system
- Experience managing complex ICU-level patients in a PCU setting
