• Pay Rate: $43.50 $47.50 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: 4x10 hours; 06:30 17:00; Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday

Job Summary

This is a travel/contract Registered Nurse position in an Oncology Clinic setting, supporting Adult Medical and Surgical Oncology patients. The primary patient diagnoses include Breast Medical Oncology. Special procedures vary by assignment area: nurses in Medical Oncology assist with bone marrow biopsies, while nurses in Surgical Oncology assist with in-office procedures such as port removals, breast biopsy, wide local excision, and similar procedures. The nurse will have team members to train them in these procedures. All nurses triage patient calls, speak with patients in clinic, call results to patients, handle phone calls, and provide patient education. There are no infusions on this unit.

Preferred Skills

• Medical Oncology (additional depth)
• Chemotherapy certification (preferred but not required)
• ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification

Education Requirements

• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• RN License required
• NC State RN License required

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• First-time travelers accepted

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Patient population: Adult Medical and Surgical Oncology patients
• Patient diagnoses include Breast Medical Oncology
• No infusions on this unit
• No call requirement
• No float requirement
• No weekend requirement
• Unit charting system: EPIC
• Scrubs: Navy (not provided must supply own)
• RNs must bring their own stethoscope
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Important Notes

• RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is NOT allowed and is NOT allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in a contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
• RNs must bring their own stethoscope.
• Please provide your candidate's interview availability for the next 72 hours when submitting candidates to avoid holding up the approval process. The manager WILL NOT OFFER without speaking to/interviewing the candidate first.
