    Overview

    The Mobile Stroke Treatment Unit (MSTU) Registered Nurse provides advanced pre-hospital nursing care to patients experiencing acute neurological and other emergent medical conditions. This role is responsible for patient assessment, triage, treatment, monitoring, and evaluation during transport, utilizing evidence-based nursing practice and established medical protocols to deliver timely, high-quality care.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide advanced pre-hospital nursing care to patients experiencing acute stroke and other neurological emergencies.
    • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, triage, treatment, monitoring, and evaluation during transport.
    • Operate autonomously within established medical protocols under the direction of the Medical Director.
    • Utilize advanced clinical judgment to identify, manage, and respond to critical patient conditions.
    • Collaborate with physicians, EMS personnel, receiving facilities, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
    • Educate and engage patients and families in the care process whenever appropriate.
    • Delegate and coordinate patient care activities with qualified healthcare team members.
    • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of clinical excellence and patient safety.
    • Contribute to a professional, collaborative work environment focused on exceptional patient outcomes.

    Qualifications

    • Education
    • Diploma/Associates Degree
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • Florida Registered Nurse License
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required
    • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
    • Leadership skills
    • Maintains/exceeds all specialty educational requirements
