- Shift / Schedule: Nights, 18:45 07:15 (4x12 Hours); will accept 36 or 48 hour contracts; every other weekend required
- Travel Requirements: Float required traveler may be required to float to main campus, NHRMC, 32 minutes away

Job Summary
This is a travel/contract Registered Nurse position in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within an acute care facility. The unit operates at a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio and maintains a self-scheduling model. Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, and contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg and Telemetry environment at a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and perform remote telemetry monitoring
- Utilize Rapid Response and Code Teams as clinically indicated
- Manage patients with bowel obstruction and provide colostomy/ileostomy care
- Provide feeding tube care and management
- Perform Pre/Post Hemodialysis management and manage patients with renal failure
- Administer blood products and perform central line blood draws
- Manage peripheral lines and PICC lines
- Perform phlebotomy and start and maintain IV access
- Administer Heparin, Insulin, and PCA therapy
- Manage chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
- Manage and maintain BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Provide non-invasive airway management including nasal cannula, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration via oxygen tanks
- Maintain isolation precautions and proper PPE use
- Perform wound care including Wound Vac management
- Care for patients with diagnoses including but not limited to: Diabetes, dementia, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, hip fracture, CHF, UTI, various surgical recovery cases, renal failure, hypertension, cellulitis, and failure to thrive
- Document using Pyxis (medication system) per unit standards
- Adhere to unit scheduling requirements including self-scheduling, every-other-weekend rotation, and no block schedules unless a weekend block
- Report to work during Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team activations as assigned

Education Requirements

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

- RTO (Return to Time Off): 7 days maximum per contract; no block schedules unless a weekend block

Important Notes
- HARDSTOP: Minimum 2 years of experience required; 7 days maximum RTO per contract; must be able to work holidays; no block schedules unless a weekend block
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
- Manager interview is required before any offer is extended; candidates must be available for interview within 72 hours of submission
