Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 3 months
  • Pay Rate: $55.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: 12-hour Days; 36 or 48 hours accepted
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry travel nursing contract position at a healthcare facility in Wilmington, NC. Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, and contract staff may be pre-assigned to units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients with typical Medical/Surgical diagnoses including dementia, diabetes, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, hip fracture, and more
  • Provide care in an isolation area for COVID patients
  • Provide multi-level care including stepdown (cared for by stepdown staff, not M/S staff)
  • Float to other units as required
  • Work weekends as required (12 16 per contract)
  • Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments as directed
  • Report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters as required

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Target patient ratios: 1:5 6
  • Floating required
  • Weekend requirement: 12 16 per contract
  • Scheduling type: based on unit needs
  • Unit orientation: 24 hours
  • Hospital orientation week one; traveler must be available for classes each day
  • Scrubs: Navy/White
  • Unit systems: Pyxis, Epic, SBAR
  • Local candidates accepted

Important Notes

  • RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in a contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
  • RTO maximum: 7 days per contract
  • Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
  • Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster; consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur and staff may be pre-assigned to units as needed
