• Contract Duration: 3 months
• Pay Rate: $46.66 $50.66 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Day shift, 3x12 Hours (6:45 AM 7:15 PM); Every other weekend coverage required

Job Summary

This inpatient unit serves stroke and TIA patients and also receives higher acuity med-surg patients. The unit is highly focused on patient experience and is capable of performing peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation. Float is required nurses may be floated to other units based on need and skill set.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient nursing care to adults and geriatric patients, including those with diagnoses such as Stroke/TIA, Seizure, Syncope, Chest Pain, Dialysis, Acute Kidney Failure, Post Heart Cath, Respiratory Failure, Encephalopathy, CHF, and Sepsis
• Maintain staffing ratio of 1:6 on nights
• Administer and manage medications using the Omnicell medication system
• Participate in unit float rotation to other units based on need and skill set
• Provide peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation as needed
• Uphold the unit's commitment to high-quality patient experience

Required Skills

• Minimum 1 year of Epic (EHR) experience required
• Proficiency with Omnicell medication system
• Ability to care for adults and geriatric patient populations
• Ability to float to other units based on need and skill set
• No first-time travelers prior travel nursing experience required

Education Requirements

• Active Tennessee (TN) RN license required
• ACLS certification Required
• BLS certification Required
• NIHSS certification Required

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Inpatient med-surg/telemetry unit
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Float to other units required based on need and skill set
• Flu vaccine required no exemptions
