• Pay Rate: $44.00 $50.60 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM (3x12), Nights

Job Summary

This is a travel contract nursing position on a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit, providing care for patients with higher oxygen demands, dialysis patients, atrial fibrillation, and post-heart catheterization diagnoses. The unit functions as a step-down from ICU with no ventilator or pressor support, and handles a defined set of drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation, as well as telemetry monitoring. Floating to other like units may be required based on need. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, though scheduling may change based on unit need. The unit will review first-time travelers based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit serving patients with higher oxygen demands, dialysis patients, atrial fibrillation, and post-heart catheterization
• Function within a step-down from ICU capacity no ventilators or pressor support
• Manage and monitor drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation
• Provide telemetry monitoring for assigned patients
• Float to other like units as required based on need
• Provide weekend coverage every other weekend (schedule subject to change based on need)

Education Requirements

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required
• Active Tennessee (TN) RN License required

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of EPIC experience required

Required Skills

• EPIC electronic health records proficiency (minimum 1 year)
• Telemetry monitoring
• Care of patients with higher oxygen demands
• Care of dialysis patients
• Drip management: heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, sotalol initiation
• Step-down/intermediate care nursing competency (non-ICU level: no vents or pressor support)
