Allergy Registered Nurse (RN)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Location: New York
No weekends required

Position Overview

The Allergy Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients and their families through both direct care and telephone support. This role works in collaboration with physicians, providers, and the broader care team to ensure coordinated, high‑quality, patient‑centered care. The RN assists with clinical procedures, performs telephone triage, provides patient education, and supports the daily clinical workflow.

The RN also provides direction to Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Assistants, and clerical support staff.

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care using established nursing standards and clinical best practices
• Demonstrate knowledge of common disease processes, treatments, diagnostic tests, and preventive health measures
• Assess patient and family needs and communicate concerns proactively
• Support patient self‑management using evidence‑based strategies
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to establish care goals and priorities
• Participate in ongoing assessment and management of patient population needs
• Perform telephone triage, including patient assessment, priority identification, and decision-making
• Administer medications accurately, including correct dosage, route, site, and monitoring for side effects
• Provide accurate clinical information consistent with nursing scope of practice and organizational protocols
• Perform authorized clinical procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, IV starts/monitoring, and basic laboratory tests
• Seek guidance from physicians, providers, or nursing colleagues when needed

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent professional nursing experience in a hospital, medical office, or clinical setting
• 1+ year of experience as an RN or 2+ years of experience as an LPN in a relevant specialty area
