    Description

    A 288-bed acute care hospital in Tallahassee is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Medical Telemetry Neurology unit. This role is ideal for a nurse who is confident in high-acuity environments and skilled in continuous patient monitoring, rapid assessment, and independent clinical decision-making.

    Position Overview

    The Medical Telemetry Neurology RN provides specialized care for patients requiring close neurological and cardiac monitoring. This position involves ongoing assessment, timely intervention, and coordination with a multidisciplinary care team to support optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced inpatient setting.

    Strong patient advocacy, attention to detail, and effective communication with patients and families are essential components of this role, along with a commitment to maintaining privacy, safety, and quality of care.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver high-acuity nursing care to patients requiring continuous telemetry and neurological monitoring.
    • Perform frequent patient assessments and respond promptly to changes in condition.
    • Make appropriate clinical decisions in collaboration with the care team as patient needs evolve.
    • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per provider orders and protocols.
    • Monitor for neurological changes and escalate care when needed.
    • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans.
    • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
    • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation.
    • Uphold patient privacy, confidentiality, and safety standards at all times.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 1+ years of acute care ICU or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required.
    • Current Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license required.
    • Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
    • CCRN certification preferred, required within 2 years of hire.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
    • Strong critical-thinking, assessment, and communication skills.

    Schedule

    • Night shift
    • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
    • Rotating weekends required
