    Description

    Job Title: Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Med Surg)

    Duration: 13 Weeks
    Schedule: Days | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 3 x 12-hour shifts (36 Hours/Week)
    Location: 1000 Johnson Ferry Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30342

    Job Requirements

    • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience required.
    • No local candidates within a 50-mile radius.
    • Current AHA BLS Certification required.
    • Experience caring for adult medical and surgical patients in an acute care hospital preferred.

    Unit Overview

    The Medical-Surgical Unit provides comprehensive nursing care for adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions and post-operative surgical needs. Nurses manage patients requiring ongoing assessment, medication administration, patient education, and coordination of care to promote recovery and safe discharge.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical and post-surgical conditions.
    • Perform thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and identify changes in patient condition.
    • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
    • Monitor pain levels and provide appropriate pain management interventions.
    • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
    • Educate patients and families regarding medications, disease processes, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
