Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry
Location: Ohio — Cleveland, Akron, Mayfield Heights, Garfield Heights, and Warrensville Heights
Contract: 13–20 weeks
Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Straight Days: 3×12
- Straight Nights: 3×12
- Rotating Days/Nights: 3 days and 3 nights on a 72-hour schedule
Pay Package
Travelers: $58–$72/hour gross, based on shift flexibility and location
Locals: $45–$50/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to provide care in Med/Surg Telemetry settings. The RN will care for patients requiring medical-surgical nursing services and continuous cardiac monitoring while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
- Minimum 18 months of combined permanent experience in the specialty being applied for.
- Active Ohio RN license or compact-state RN license required.
- BLS and ACLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross required.
- NIHSS certification required.
- Recent Epic experience required.
- One recent professional reference from a Manager, ANM, Supervisor, or Director in the applicable specialty is required.
- Must successfully complete required ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate assessments during orientation.
- Must work at least every other holiday during the assignment.
- Flu vaccination exemptions are limited to approved medical or religious exemptions.
- COVID-19 vaccination exemptions are limited to approved medical or religious exemptions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document patient status.
- Administer medications and treatments according to orders and established protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records using Epic.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care.
- Follow infection control, patient safety, and facility policies.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
