What You’ll Do:

• Provide comprehensive care to patients in a busy Stroke and Chest-Pain accredited unit
• Manage Med/Surg and Telemetry patients, including those awaiting or with a history of transplant
• Interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms, including reading EKGs and cardiac strips
• Initiate IVs, perform phlebotomy, and assist with chest tubes and dialysis patients as needed
• Support patient care activities, including wound care, medication administration, and documentation in Meditech Expanse EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including RT, OT, PT, and hospitalists
• Float to other units within scope of practice as needed, with orientation provided

What You Need:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or ability to obtain one
• 1+ year of acute care RN experience, including MedSurg and Telemetry
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to orientation
• Key skills: cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV insertion, patient assessment, wound care, quick adaptability
• Preferred: experience with transplant unit, chest tubes, dialysis, and WOCN wound care
