Job Summary and Qualifications The Maternal Program Coordinator (MPC) coordinates the clinical management of the maternal patient population and their families across the entire continuum of care. The MPC serves as a leader of the maternal quality assurance performance improvement program and acts as a clinical resource/role model for all areas caring for maternal patients. The Program Coordinator builds collaborative relationships with other Maternal Program Coordinators/Managers of designated facilities within the applicable Perinatal Care Region. Responsibilities: Provides leadership and consultative services for performance improvement activities of the perinatal program Collaborates with the Maternal Medical Director to review and oversee the provision of perinatal care services from admission, stabilization and through discharge. Ensures compliance activities for all regulatory agencies for the designation program. Maintains responsibility for knowledge and skill of clinical requirement in nursing specialties. Coordinates referrals when physician or departmental review is indicated. Oversees the Process Improvement (QAPI) initiatives. Chairs the maternal QAPI multidisciplinary meeting and presents monthly statistics and quality improvements. Supports the initial and on-going education of the Perinatal nursing staff and the development of contents in compliance with mandatory standards. Assures the facility performs concurrent rounding on the patients and medical record reviews. Collaborates with the Women's Services educator to assure staff competency, education and training. What qualifications you will need: EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Nursing. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS: Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state of Texas and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation required. BLS, ACLS, and NRP required. Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) required. Certification in specialty area (RNC-OB) required within 1 year. AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required. AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring required. EXPERIENCE: 3+ years of applicable experience required.
