Description

Our client, a healthcare company, is hiring a Registered Nurse to join their medical-surgical unit in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This role involves direct patient care, coordination with physicians and care teams, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The ideal candidate holds an active Pennsylvania RN license, has at least two years of clinical experience, and is comfortable managing a full patient caseload while adapting to shifting priorities. This is a full-time position with rotating shifts, including some weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, and treatment monitoring
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to develop patient care plans
  • Document patient conditions and treatments accurately in the electronic health record
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
  • Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns to physicians as needed
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and state nursing regulations
  • Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings

Requirements

  • Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience
  • Current BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Experience with electronic health record systems
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods during shifts
