What Youll Do
- Provide direct patient care for antepartum and laboring patients, including triage and active labor management
- Circulate during C-sections and postpartum care procedures
- Administer therapies such as Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Cytotec, and balloon inductions
- Monitor and care for postpartum hemorrhage patients, including blood administration and Jada device management
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth unit operations and patient safety
- Document patient interactions accurately using EMR systems (Meditech Expanse, GE Centricity Perinatal)
- Follow hospital protocols and maintain patient confidentiality and safety standards
What You Need
Required:- Valid Registered Nurse license in Louisiana
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, NRP, and FHM certifications
- Minimum 1 year of labor and delivery experience
- Ability to manage laboring and postpartum patients with confidence
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred:- Experience with C-section circulation, induction procedures, and postpartum care
- Ability to work in a family-like, patient-centered environment
About the Assignment
Join a family-like culture on a busy labor and delivery unit with 12 nurses, located in a well-equipped, Level 3 NICU facility. Youll be providing critical care to antepartum and laboring patients, working alongside dedicated staff including OB hospitalists and resource nurses. Orientation includes hospital onboarding and two unit shifts, with every-other weekend rotation scheduled. This opportunity offers valuable experience in a supportive environment, with on-call shifts and potential for future assignments.
