• Pay Rate: $60.00 $64.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Day (3 12 Hours) 7:00 AM 7:00 PM / Night (3 12 Hours) 7:00 PM 7:00 AM; alternating days and nights; Every Other Weekend required; Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
• Travel Requirements: RNs within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted. Locals accepted for LPNs.
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery at a Magnet-recognized acute care teaching facility in Rochester, NY. All pregnant patients at any gestational age accepted by the provider team are cared for. Triage evaluates all pregnant patients at any gestational age and all postpartum patients within 6 weeks of delivery. The unit provides care using advanced monitoring equipment including Client Fetal & Telemetry Monitors, "Monica" wireless fetal monitoring, Neopuff, and Draeger newborn warmers. The Labor & Delivery unit (Twig Birthing Center) offers private birthing suites, on-unit ORs, advanced monitoring, and both OB and midwifery care. The Baby-Friendly unit supports family-centered births, lactation, hydrotherapy, and postpartum services, and is rated "High Performing" for maternity outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with vaginal delivery
• Circulate for C-section
• Recover C-Section
• Administer Magnesium Sulfate therapy
• Administer Pitocin (oxytocin) and Terbutaline
• Perform APGAR scores
• Serve as Baby Nurse (Baby Catcher)
• Perform ID/Security Banding
• Operate Radiant Warmers/Thermoregulation equipment
• Perform Foley catheter insertion and management
• Provide Fundus/lochia/perineum care
• Manage Post Partum Hemorrhage
• Monitor and manage Pregnancy induced hypertension
• Perform NST (Non Stress Tests)
• Operate EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)
• Perform IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration
• Float within skillset as required

Education Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN or LPN license required (NY is not a Compact state; pending license not accepted)
• OB-ACLS or ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• EFM certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required

Required Skills

• EPIC EHR experience required; Non-Epic CPN/Client Centricity
• Proficiency with Client Fetal & Telemetry Monitors
• Proficiency with "Monica" wireless fetal monitoring
• Proficiency with Neopuff
• Proficiency with Draeger newborn warmers

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights, alternating)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday availability required every other holiday, if needed
• No on-call requirement
• Will be required to float within skillset
• Scrub color: Hospital provided
• Call-off policy: The client may cancel (call off) up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period without incurring charges for the canceled hours
• RTO, block, and special scheduling requests must be submitted upon submission

• Pending license not accepted must have an active New York Single State RN or LPN license at time of submission
• RNs within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted; locals accepted for LPNs
