Registered Nurse/Labor and Delivery

Location: Bolivia, NC

Onsite Flexibility: Onsite

Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract (Travel/Contract)
  • Contract Duration: 6 months
  • Pay Rate: $50.00 $55.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Nights, 18:45 07:15 (3 12 hours); 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a Labor and Delivery travel nursing position within an LDRP Unit providing couplet care at a ratio of 1:4 (mom/babies). The role requires a minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience and traveler experience is required. Local candidates are also accepted.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide care within an LDRP Unit under couplet care ratios of 1:4 (includes mom/babies)
  • Assist with sterile speculum exam (effacement, dilation, station, presentation)
  • Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)
  • Use of External and Internal Fetal Monitoring
  • Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Provide breastfeeding support/lactation support
  • Circulating for cesarean sections (c/s)
  • Float to assist other units (not take assignments)
  • Fulfill call requirement: 2 mandatory call shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Work every other weekend as required

Preferred Skills

  • EPIC (electronic health records system)

Education Requirements

  • BLS certification required
  • AWHONN certification required
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Traveler experience required

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Patient diagnoses: LDRP and Mother/Baby
  • Unit type: LDRP Unit, Couplet Care, ratio 1:4
  • 800 births per year at this facility
  • Scheduling type: Self-scheduling
  • Unit orientation: 32 hours
  • Call requirement: 2 mandatory call shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Float requirement: Yes will float to assist other units (not take assignments)
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
  • Scrubs: Cecil blue hospital-issued scrubs; navy also acceptable
  • Flu vaccination: Required (medical/religious exemptions only)
  • COVID-19 vaccination: Not required
