Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

Submission Requirements

• Updated resume documenting at least 2 years of experience in ICU, SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, or Neuro ICU, including travel nursing experience.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience; 4–5 years preferred.
• Previous travel nursing experience is mandatory.
• Skills checklist matching the specialty.
• Driver’s license with an address matching the candidate’s demographics.
• Current AHA ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• NURSYS license verification report showing an active New York RN license and all active RN licenses.
• Requested time off (RTO) must be included at the time of submission.
• EPIC EMR experience required.

Clinical Requirements

• Experience with CRRT and Prismaflex is required.
• Cardiac experience is highly preferred. Candidates with cardiac experience will receive priority consideration from the manager.
• Floating is required to other units as needed, except Behavioral Health and the Emergency Department, unless the ED is holding patients.

Common Patient Diagnoses

Neuro/Medical ICU

• Strokes
• Sepsis
• Altered mental status (AMS)
• Neurointerventional procedures, including TCAR
• Respiratory failure
• Congestive heart failure (CHF)
• Post-STEMI patients

Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU)

• Cardiovascular surgery
• Cardiogenic shock
• Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) surgery

Surgical/Trauma ICU

• Trauma patients
• Major postoperative surgical patients

Specialty Equipment

• Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
• CRRT systems: Prismaflex or NxStage
• Ventriculostomy
• Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring
• Targeted temperature management (TTM), including Arctic Sun
