Registered Nurse I

Epitec is seeking a/an Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse to support adult inpatient psychiatric care at Eleanor Slater Hospital in Rhode Island. This opportunity will assist during a major hospital transition to a new facility while providing high-quality patient care in an acute behavioral health environment. We are seeking compassionate, adaptable nurses who can thrive in a fast-paced inpatient setting and maintain a strong focus on patient safety and therapeutic care.

• Schedule: 24-40 hours per week
• Shifts: All shifts needed
• Schedule will include any day of the week
• Mandatory every other weekend
• Days off determined based on hospital needs
• Contract Duration: Long term
• Candidates must be flexible with schedules and hours

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult inpatient psychiatric patients.
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor physical and behavioral health status.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
• Maintain patient observations, clinical documentation, and required records.
• Participate in admissions, patient handoffs, care planning, and patient education.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support treatment goals and patient safety.
• Respond to behavioral and medical emergencies as required.
• Support safe and consistent unit operations during the hospital transition process.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license meeting Rhode Island practice requirements.
• Experience in inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health settings preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Ability to adapt to changing workflows and patient care needs.
• Comfortable working all shifts, including mandatory every other weekend.
• Able to work a minimum of 24 hours per week and up to 40 hours per week.
