An established residential services organization is seeking a Registered Nurse for a role based in Brooklyn, NY. This position provides nursing support within a residential program serving individuals with developmental disabilities, with a focus on care coordination, documentation, and direct clinical follow-up.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: Flexible, typically between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM
- Setting: Residential Facility
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and follow through on healthcare services for assigned residential program participants
- Complete nursing documentation, assessments, and follow-up on medical recommendations and physician orders
- Support medication administration, medication storage, and nursing oversight of certified staff
- Provide clinical follow-up, first aid, and response to urgent health needs as needed
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, staff training, and ongoing case reviews to support resident care
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited professional Nursing program
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license and registration
- Current CPR certification
- Strong oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience in OPWDD settings or other developmental disabilities programs
- Background in long-term care or residential health settings
- Familiarity with adaptive equipment, infection control, and nursing education for direct care staff
- Comfort with telephonic triage and on-call support
