Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Gastroenterology

Location: Ballantyne / South Charlotte, NC
Salary: $70,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Setting: Outpatient Gastroenterology

An established gastroenterology practice in the Ballantyne area is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its outpatient clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN looking for a Monday–Friday schedule while providing direct patient care, nurse triage, patient education, and care coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients, obtain medical histories and vital signs, and accurately document findings in the EHR

• Provide direct nursing care and perform provider-ordered treatments

• Administer medications and monitor patient responses

• Start IVs, administer IV fluids, and provide appropriate follow-up care

• Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, and acute or chronic condition management

• Complete medication refills, prior authorizations, forms, and electronic orders

• Triage patient calls and assess the urgency and appropriate level of care

• Direct patients to a provider, urgent care, or the emergency department when clinically appropriate

• Serve as a clinical resource for urgent patient and walk-in concerns

• Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition

• Participate in emergency response procedures when necessary

• Support Medical Assistants and collaborate with providers and clinical staff

• Help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the practice

• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, education, and communication

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred

• Active North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Current BLS certification

• Minimum of 1 year of professional nursing experience

• Outpatient, ambulatory care, or gastroenterology experience preferred

• Experience with IV insertion

• Experience working with an electronic health record (EHR) system

• Strong clinical assessment and nursing triage skills

• Excellent communication, organization, and patient-service skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient environment

Compensation & Schedule

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience

Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | Full-Time
