About the Facility Hopi Health Care Center, Polacca, Arizona The Hopi Health Care Center, located in Polacca, Arizona, was built on the Hopi Reservation and serves approximately 7,000 people from both the Hopi and Navajo tribes. The Service Unit site was selected for its central accessibility, where most residents can reach the Center within 35-40 minutes. The Center is JCAHO-accredited, providing innovative health care services to the area's residents. The ambulatory care setting offers primary and preventative medical services, while the facility offers a 2-bed birthing unit, a 4-bed Medical/Surgical adult/pediatric unit supported by a staff of 12 physicians and 3 physician extenders. Services provided include general family medical care, surgical follow-up, pediatric and obstetric services. An eye clinic, staffed by 2 optometrists, provides refraction and general eye care. Seven dentists are stationed at the Center and at a satellite clinic providing dental services. Major trauma, acute surgical emergencies, and high-risk obstetric patients are transported to Tuba City Indian Medical Hospital, Chinle Hospital, Phoenix Indian Medical Center or to several other contracted health facilities.

Registered Nurse - Emergency Room - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)- The RN ER initiates and manages the nursing process for admitted patients.
- Deliver nursing care, including patient education, based on the nursing process.
- Prioritize nursing care according to patient needs and clinical settings.
- Execute and monitor medical orders from physicians, including administering medications, oxygen, and treatments.
- Operate and manage therapeutic devices such as drainage, feeding, and suction tubes, as well as respiratory and electrocardiograph machines.
- Measure and assess vital signs, neurological status, and other health indicators.
- The RN ER provides direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities and ambulation.
- Document patient care, changes in condition, and other unit activities.
- Recognize life-threatening emergencies and initiate resuscitation measures and other emergency procedures.
- Identify adverse reactions to medications and treatments, and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Perform quality control checks for crash carts, lab equipment, and other medical devices.
- Assist in the collection of specimens, including blood, urine, and stool samples.
- Serve as a member of the healthcare team for after-hours and emergency situations.
- The RN ER provides comprehensive nursing care specific to the age and condition of patients, ranging from neonates to geriatric patients.
Registered Nurse - Emergency Room - REQUIREMENTS- Education: Must have a minimum of an Associate of Science in Nursing degree.
- Experience: Must have a minimum of two (2) years of ER experience.
- Certification: Must have an ACLS. BLS and PALS through either the American Heart Association or the client is required. NRP/TNCC/CEN certification is preferred but not required.
- License: Shall possess a current, valid, unrestricted physician license in the state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract.
