• Pay Rate: $47.66 $51.66 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: 3 x 12-hour Night shifts (18:45 07:15)

Job Summary

This is a travel nursing contract position on an Overflow/ED Holding Unit, supporting winter census overflow. The unit functions as an Overflow Unit and ED Holding Unit with a daily census of 18 and target patient ratios of 1:6 7. First-time travelers are accepted, and local candidates are also welcome.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients on the Overflow/ED Holding Unit, including general surgery and medical telemetry patients
• Care for patients with various diagnoses requiring medical intervention or surgical procedures, including medical tele patients, cardiac telemetry, and medical telemetry
• Float as needed to similar units, including potential float to EOU (Extended Observation Unit) for observation patients
• Utilize unit systems including PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR in daily clinical practice

Required Skills

• IV Start proficiency
• Telemetry skills
• Ability to pass EKG Testing prior to start (required for this specialty)

Preferred Skills

• NIH (stroke scale) certification preferred

Education Requirements

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Required
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) Required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification Preferred

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• First-time travelers accepted

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Night shift: 3 x 12-hour nights (18:45 07:15)
• Float requirement: Floating as needed to similar units; may float to EOU (Extended Observation Unit observation patients)
• Target patient ratios: 1:6 7
• Daily census: 18 patients
• Patient population: General Surgery and Medical Tele; Cardiac telemetry/medical telemetry; various diagnoses requiring medical intervention or surgical procedures
• Unit systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• 24 hours of unit orientation provided
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Important Notes

• RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could result in contract cancellation and a Do Not Rehire (DNR) designation.
• Candidate must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty.
