Job Responsibilities:
  • Patient Assessment & Care: Perform rapid, accurate assessments, initiate treatment, and manage care for critically ill or injured patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
  • Triage: Prioritize incoming patients based on the urgency of their needs.
  • Intervention: Administer medications, manage intravenous lines, and assist with procedures such as intubations and sutures.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside emergency physicians, technicians, and specialists to develop and implement care strategies.
  • Communication: Provide clear, effective communication with patient families, emergency staff, and support teams.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely documentation of vitals, patient history, and treatment in electronic health records. 
     
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous Emergency Department or acute care experience is highly preferred.
  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Virginia license or compact state license.
  • Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required; TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred.
  • Skills: Strong critical thinking, stress management, and emotional resilience in high-stakes situations.
