Position Summary:
Unison Health is seeking compassionate Registered Nurses to provide high-quality nursing care and behavioral health support to children and adolescents in our inpatient Children's Wellness Center (CWC) program. The Registered Nurse is responsible for conducting health assessments, administering medications and treatments, monitoring clients' physical and behavioral health status, and responding to medical and behavioral health needs in a therapeutic setting. Working as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, the Registered Nurse supports individualized treatment plans, provides behavioral health interventions, educates clients and families on health and wellness, and helps maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment that promotes stabilization, recovery, and positive outcomes for every child.
Key Responsibilities and Role Highlights:
Provide comprehensive nursing care, including health assessments, medication administration, immunizations, coordination of referrals, and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation while ensuring the confidentiality of client and program information.
Educate clients, families, and staff on health-related topics, and support ongoing staff training and professional development.
Maintain the medication room, oversee medical supplies, and ensure compliance with medication management standards.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid and crisis support as needed.
Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate high-quality client care.
Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and required training while maintaining compliance with agency policies, regulatory standards, and licensure requirements.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Requires an associate degree in nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Required CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
Required BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
At least one-year clinical experience in a hospital setting is required. Previous psychiatric experience is preferred.
This position requires current RN license from the State of Ohio. Certification as a psychiatric nurse is preferred.
Must be able to assume call on a rotating basis and work a flexible schedule that will include evenings, weekends and holidays as team maintains 24-hour responsibility for client care.
Must demonstrate knowledge of mental illness and the ability to establish therapeutic relationships with clients.
Must be able to work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile individuals.
Must be able to work independently and make independent decisions when situations warrant such action.
