Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Valid registered nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin or the ability to obtain one.
  • Certifications Requirements: BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification) or equivalent.
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of recent labor and delivery nursing experience.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to float to postpartum units as needed, strong documentation skills, excellent communication skills, and flexibility to work varied shifts.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to high-risk mothers and newborns in Labor and Delivery, following established standards and policies.
  • Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal assessments, intervening as necessary to ensure patient safety.
  • Assist with obstetric procedures including C-sections, labor, and postpartum recoveries, supporting the healthcare team as a primary or secondary nurse.
  • Document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes accurately using electronic health records (EPIC).
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and support staff to deliver seamless patient care.
