    Registered Nurse College Instructor (Part-Time)

    Location: Aurora, CO (Aurora Campus) | On-Site

    Type: Part-Time (20 Hours per Week)

    Schedule: Flexible Morning or Afternoon Blocks | Monday – Thursday (No Weekends or Holidays)

    Department: Practical Nursing (LPN) Program

    Compensation: $40.00 – $46.89 per hour

    Position Summary

    Shape the future of practical nursing! Pima Medical Institute is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Practical Nursing (LPN) program as a Part-Time Instructor at our Aurora campus. This role is ideal for an RN who wants to blend clinical expertise with meaningful academic impact while maintaining a flexible weekday schedule.

    You will support student learning across classroom, skills-lab, and clinical environments, helping future LPNs build confidence, competence, and readiness for real-world practice. Teaching hours are structured in convenient 4- or 5-hour blocks, Monday through Thursday, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Instruction & Clinical Leadership:

    • Didactic & Clinical Delivery: Deliver engaging classroom lectures, skills-lab demonstrations, and clinical learning experiences for LPN students.

    • Lesson Execution: Prepare and deliver structured lesson plans using approved course syllabi, course objectives, and outlines.

    • Lab Management: Oversee skills-lab setup, equipment readiness, supply inventory, and safety standards.

    • Clinical Partnership Alignment: Maintain positive working relationships with clinical site representatives and ensure continuity between classroom objectives and clinical experiences.

    Program Governance & Faculty Support:

    • Curriculum Collaboration: Collaborate with the Program Director to implement, evaluate, and refine the program of learning.

    • Faculty Mentorship & Supervision: Orient and mentor new clinical faculty; plan, monitor, and evaluate instruction delivered by clinical/adjunct instructors.

    • Accreditation Support: Participate in program evaluation plans, campus meetings, and nursing accreditation processes.

    Student Advising & Administration:

    • Applicant Screening & Advising: Participate in applicant interviews and provide ongoing academic counseling and personal support to students.

    • Student Evaluations: Schedule regular progress check-ins, evaluate practical skill competencies, and maintain accurate attendance and grade records.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Education:

      • Master’s degree or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BSN) from a nationally accredited Nursing Education Program (BSN accepted if no less than half of current faculty hold a Master's degree).

    • Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of occupational experience as a Registered Nurse providing direct patient care.

    • Licensure & Credentials: Active, unrestricted Colorado RN license (or active Compact multi-state privilege to practice in Colorado).

    • Technical Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic educational computer applications.
