Job Summary:
Location: Methodist Jennie Edmundson HospitalResponsibilities:
Performs an initial and ongoing assessment to determine the assigned patient's ongoing nursing care needs.
Develops/reviews/revises and individualizes the plan of care to address the patient's nursing care needs for optimum patient care outcomes.
Implements interventions that are consistent with the established plan of care in a safe and appropriate manner.
Evaluates patient care to determine response to care/interventions for optimal patient outcome.
Performs technical skills competently and independently to assure patient safety (autonomy).
Maintains a professional behavior in attitude, demeanor, interactions to achieve organization's mission.
Initiates action to correct, prevent, and/or minimize risk(s) to the patient, family or hospital employees (e.g., falls, needle sticks, patient concerns).
Reviews, delegates and evaluates plans for appropriate utilization of staff at all levels of practice in accordance with the provision of the state's Nurse Practice Act and the Professional Standards of Practice.
Safely administers medications.
Participate in ongoing planning, implementation and initiation of new Operating Room staff and students.
Review and submit weekly timecards for assigned area, ensuring accuracy of records.
Compare procedures to dictation to ensure proper codes were used for billing purposes.
Ensure proper charges are entered in billing and that charts are complete.
Assist coding and other departments with questions about procedures and codes.
Enter new products into electronic medical record to ensure proper coding and charges can be made.
Maintain list of products used in surgeries to ensure accurate charge amount and descriptions.
Investigate and correct issues with scheduling based on surgeon preferences.
Create preference cards for physicians, ensuring all information entered is accurate.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, daytime hours.
