Position Summary
Join our dynamic Nursing Education Program as a Part-Time Nurse Instructor at Pima Medical Institute! We are seeking an active Registered Nurse to guide and mentor the next generation of healthcare professionals through clinical, lab, and classroom instruction.
This 14-hour per week daytime role is specifically tailored for practicing RNs who want to share their clinical expertise while maintaining their current healthcare position.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Supervision & Placement:
Direct Guidance: Instruct and supervise nursing students during clinical rotations and lab practice.
Placement Coordination: Arrange suitable clinical learning experiences tailored to student growth needs.
Competency Evaluation: Assess student performance and progress against established professional nursing standards.
Practice Currency: Maintain active clinical employment to keep instruction aligned with modern healthcare protocols.
Instructional Delivery & Student Mentorship:
Teaching: Deliver engaging instruction in nursing methods, clinical techniques, and lab coursework.
Classroom Collaboration: Assist fellow faculty members in classroom and laboratory settings.
Professional Standards: Model exceptional bedside manner, ethics, and communication in all professional interactions.
Academic Support & Administration:
Retention Management: Monitor academic progress weekly and develop Academic Success Plans alongside the Clinical Director for struggling students.
Program Alignment: Support the continuous evaluation and updating of the Nursing Education Program objectives.
Records Maintenance: Keep precise attendance logs, attend faculty meetings, and address student inquiries promptly.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited USDE or CHEA program.
Licensure: Current, active Arizona RN license (or Compact/Multi-State privilege to practice in Arizona).
Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of direct patient care experience as an RN. Must currently work in an active clinical practice setting.
Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and educational platforms.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Pima Medical Institute started changing lives in 1972 when Richard Luebke Sr. and his wife, JoAnn, brought to life their dream of providing quality medical career education. They opened the first campus in Tucson, Arizona, preparing students to become nursing assistants. Eventually Richard Luebke Jr. and Mark Luebke took the helm, introducing more programs and opening additional campus locations to meet the country’s growing demand for quality healthcare professionals.
In 2015, Fred Freedman became Pima Medical’s President and Chief Executive Officer after serving the college as Chief Operating Officer. He has been with Pima Medical since June of 2000.
