As a Registered Nurse (Clinical III), you will coordinate high-quality patient care, guide and support nursing staff, and help drive quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

    What Youll Do

    • Coordinate and deliver comprehensive patient care using the nursing process and evidence-based practice.
    • Serve as a clinical resource, mentor, preceptor, and role model for nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members.
    • Provide charge nurse or relief charge responsibilities as assigned.
    • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and modify patient care plans based on changing patient conditions.
    • Delegate patient care responsibilities appropriately while supervising care delivery.
    • Administer medications safely and monitor patient responses according to hospital policy.
    • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
    • Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams using the SBAR communication framework.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
    • Promote patient safety, infection prevention, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
    • Support patient throughput, admissions, transfers, and discharge planning.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice projects, and regulatory readiness activities.
    • Foster a positive patient experience through compassionate, respectful, and responsive care.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in the specialty department.
    • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
    • ADN required; BSN preferred.
    • Current AHA BLS certification.
    • Ability to obtain LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire.
    • Ability to obtain Management of Assaultive Behavior (CPI or equivalent) certification within 30 days of hire.
    • NIHSS certification within 30 days of employment
    • Annual Stroke Education within 30 days of employment

    Preferred

    • Demonstrated experience serving as a charge nurse, preceptor, mentor, or clinical leader.
    • Active participation in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, or nursing leadership initiatives.
    • Progression through a Clinical Ladder program demonstrating leadership, education, and professional development.
