Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse Cardiac Cath Lab, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn –whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

What you will do in this role:

• May perform scrubbing duties for diagnostic/interventional cardiology and radiology procedures.
• Assesses and reassesses the patient to gather data relevant to the patient’s individual, age specific needs, and disease process.
• Provides age specific patient care according to the assessment data, departmental policies and procedures and physician orders.
• Evaluates the patient’s response to interventions.
• Documents assessment data, patient care, interventions, and evaluations in the medical record.
• Documents drug procedure and equipment data required for generating patient billing information and for departmental inventory control.
• Participates in multidisciplinary discharge planning.
• Ensures a safe environment for the patient.
• Participates in teaching the patient and family.
• Quality assurance and Core Measures for Cath Lab.
• Completes continuing education and in-service training in order to maintain current knowledge or skills to perform job responsibilities.
• Category I exposure are tasks that involve exposure to blood and body fluids. Therefore, personal protective equipment is required.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree
• Experience in ICU, CVICU and ED is strongly preferred
