The Registered Nurse collaborates with the Cardiologists in an office setting. Essential Job Functions: - Under the direction and supervision of a license physician, provides health care to patients including diagnosis and treatment.
- Obtains medical histories, performs physical examinations, makes diagnosis and orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Review test results.
- Provides patient education about underlying medical condition.
- Instructs and counsels patients regarding therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance.
- Administers immunizations.
- The Registered Nurse will perform other duties as assigned by supervising physicians.
- The Registered Nurse will perform cardiac stress tests to prepare patients for Cardiac Imaging (Nuclear or Ultrasound), EKGs, Holter Monitors and Pacemaker checks.
- Initiate medication authorizations and notify the patient, pharmacy and physician when approved.
- Review transition of care documents on discharge and follow the CHF initiative practice guidelines.
- Monitor medication samples, monitor inventory and order when needed.
- Ensure HIPPA guidelines are followed at all times.
