Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Nurse is responsible for decisions and actions within the domain of nursing practice. Important aspects of this responsibility are the promotion of a safe and therapeutic environment for both the recipients and providers of nursing care; acquisition of specialized knowledge skills and additional formal education to provide specialized care; demonstration and validation of competence in nursing practice; clinical practice consistent with the policies, procedures and standards of this facility; and supervision of other staff as designated within the department. Under general supervision, the Cath Lab RN: Assists with all diagnostic and interventional procedures in Cath and specials labs as monitor or circulator.Provides individual nursing care.Administers medication, starts IV's, operates equipment as needed.Prepares patients for examination.Documents appropriate information.Interacts with patients and physiciansAssists with orientation/education of all new Cath Lab employees.Assists with maintenance of staff competency checks and scheduling of in-services.Assists with performance improvement, performs related duties as assigned. What qualifications you will need: Education/Skills: Associate's degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred. Experience: Minimum two years' Critical Care/ER or Cath Lab experience required. Cath Lab experience preferred. Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications: Registered Nurse License eligible to practice in the State of Texas; Texas State RN license required; current BLS and ACLS obtained from approved HCA vendor required.
