Position Title: Registered Nurse
Location: Albany, NY 12208
Duration: 2 years
Work Schedule: Day shift: 2 Registered Nurses
Evening shift: 2 Registered Nurses
Overnight shift: 1 Registered Nurse
Pay rate: 59$/hr.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:- Independently performs Registered Nurse duties and provides clinical supervision and instruction to Graduate Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and direct care staff in completing nursing care tasks.
- Delegates appropriate nursing activities, skills, and procedures to nursing and direct care staff; conducts clinical rounds to assess individuals' nursing care needs and observe and evaluate the delivery of nursing services.
- Serves as a liaison with outside agencies and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and appropriate follow-up; advocates for individuals' needs and provides instruction regarding discharge plans, as needed.
- May perform the full range of supervisory duties for Graduate Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and direct care staff; provides information to Registered Nurse Supervisors; and prepares or contributes to staff reports and performance evaluations.
- Conducts nursing assessments and obtains, records, and updates individuals' health information and vital signs using standard instruments and procedures.
- Develops, implements, and modifies nursing care plans; prepares individuals for and assists with examinations and treatments; and administers medications and nursing procedures as prescribed.
- Observes, monitors, and documents individuals' symptoms, conditions, and care, including diet and physical activity; identifies and reports responses to medications and changes in health status.
- Serves as the nursing representative on treatment teams and collaborates with healthcare professionals and other disciplines to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individuals' care.
- Conducts clinical rounds to assess nursing care needs and observe and participate in the provision of nursing services.
To be considered for this position, you should have: [Skills, Education, or Experience]- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license and registration.
- Ability to provide professional nursing care, conduct nursing assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, and perform nursing procedures.
- Experience providing clinical supervision, guidance, and instruction to Graduate Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and direct care staff.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, medication management, nursing standards, and applicable agency, State, and federal requirements.
- Ability to provide health education, counseling, and support to individuals, families, and staff.
- Availability to work assigned day, evening, or overnight shifts as required by the Office of Mental Health (OMH).
- Ability to successfully complete required background and screening checks, including Fingerprint, SEL, SCR, SAM, Medicare, and Medicaid checks.
- Ability to meet required vaccination requirements, including measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), varicella, and influenza.
- Willingness and ability to complete OMH-required training, including New Employee Orientation and TRUST, which will be provided by OMH.
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, clinical judgment, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to commit to an assignment expected to last at least one year, subject to OMH operational requirements and availability.
