Our client is a New York State Agency and is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care (CHPC). This is a unique, non-bedside clinical role focused on the development and delivery of statewide educational initiatives. You will serve as a clinical subject matter expert, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to improve the standards of end-of-life care across New York State.
This role is ideal for an RN with a passion for clinical education, policy interpretation, and community-wide health advocacy. Primary Responsibilities
Clinical Education: Identify and recommend training needs for hospice and palliative care providers statewide. Create professional training materials tailored to diverse audiences with varying levels of health literacy.
Regulatory Guidance: Interpret and communicate complex federal and state regulations from a nursing perspective to ensure provider compliance.
Data & Research Analysis: Review provider data and current clinical research to promote and implement best practices in end-of-life care.
Quality Assurance Collaboration: Partner with regional Department of Health (DOH) offices to monitor standards of care and communicate "model practices" to the field.
Public Representation: Represent the Center at public forums and professional meetings, promoting advance care planning and the Center's overarching goals.
Interdisciplinary Support: Work closely with the Center Director, Clinical Social Workers, and Health System Specialists to ensure a holistic approach to palliative care initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Licensure: Current license and registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in New York State.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with public speaking in both in-person and virtual environments.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data systems analysis.
Soft Skills: Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and time-management abilities. Must be a self-starter comfortable working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with the standards, rules, and guidelines governing end-of-life care in inpatient or community-based settings.
Experience: Prior experience working within a patient-centered, interdisciplinary team environment.
