Duties Description Are you a Registered Nurse with experience in nurse education and training? Creedmoor Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting a Registered Nurse 3 (Psychiatric Educator) to plan, design, and develop training curriculum to improve the knowledge, skills, and abilities of nursing staff.
As a Registered Nurse 3 (Psychiatric Educator), you would:
Plan, design, and develop orientation and training curriculum for nursing staff;
Provide on the job training
Clinically supervise staff in the provision of nursing services
Evaluate training needs and modify programs to ensure effective service delivery
Collaborate with nursing management and multidisciplinary treatment teams to develop and revise policies and procedures and ensure staff competencies are current and in compliance with nursing standards
Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they are:
Licensed and currently registered as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and
Bachelors degree in nursing; and
2 years of post-licensure nursing experience. One year must have been clinical nursing experience working with individuals, at least 50% of whom have been diagnosed with mental illness, addiction, or substance use disorder; and
1 year must have been professional nurse educator experience conducting nurse education and training.
Substitution:
A masters degree in nursing may substitute for 1 year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience
A doctorate in nursing may substitute for 2 years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
OR
Candidates within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 22 ($82,326), an Increase Hiring Rate ($10,852), and Geographic Pay Differential ($35,000). The posted job rate is the sum of the statutory job rate ($104, 230) and Geographic Pay Differential ($35,000).
This position is eligible for a $4,000 downstate adjudgment.
Additional compensation may apply based on shift assignment. 7% shift differential for evening shift. 10% shift differential for night shift.

If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.
