    Description

    Mountain Park Health Center is looking for Registered Dietitians (RD) to join our well established and accredited team of providers. As a large Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in Arizona, we are dedicated, to sustain and improve health by providing excellent, patient-centered primary care.

    The Registered Dietitian (RD) performs medium and high-risk nutrition counseling services for participants on the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) at Mountain Park Health Center; this includes but is not limited to formula authorization, and as necessary, Certification of clients.

    Essential Functions:

    • Performs WIC services and procedures such as categorical and income screening and health and nutrition assessments in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and procedures.
    • Plans, creates, and provides individual and group nutrition and breastfeeding education to medium and high-risk participants, providers, and professional staff utilizing interactive teaching methods and diverse multi-media materials and aids.
    • Consults with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding clinical nutrition issues or concerns, including customizing individual meal plans for program participants with medical needs.
    • Assigns and tailors an appropriate food package for eligible participants based on age, category, health risks, and family needs and issues WIC food benefits.
    • Reviews and authorizes special formulas and documents approved in HANDS.
    • Develops and revises nutrition education materials as assigned.
    • Assists with the self-assessment efforts by conducting assigned observations and chart reviews.
    • Serves as preceptor to incoming dietetic interns and provides mentoring.
    • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
    • Performs other duties as required.

    Position Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Registered Dietitian (RD) certification issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
    • Valid driver's license
    • Current CPR Certification

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 1 or more years' experience in WIC, or related field
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish
