Come join our Venice Family Clinic team and make a difference in the communities we serve as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA). Under the general supervision of the Senior Dentist, the RDA will coordinate patient flow and provide dental assistance in both clinical and community settings for our Venice Family Clinic's dental program. This role will also support the Virtual Dental Home (VDH) Program, which uses Tele-dentistry to provide comprehensive dental care.

Note this position is based in Santa Monica but will travel as needed to our other dental locations.

Salary range: $30.30 - $39.96 hourly

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Dental Assistant and possess an active Registered Dental Assistant license that is in good standing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the AHA or ARC.
  • Current California Dental Board-approved courses in the California Dental Practice Act and Infection Control.
  • Current Sealant permit or obtain a sealant permit within 6 months of hire/reclassification.
  • Working knowledge of current dental terminology, materials, equipment, and procedures related to dentistry.
  • Working knowledge of principles of asepsis, sterilization procedures, and infection control.
  • Ability to organize and maintain an inventory of dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in the dental operatory.
  • Organizational skills to set priorities to reflect relative importance of job responsibility.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and frequent interruptions and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately.
  • Working knowledge of four-handed dentistry, and ability to work with infectious disease patients.
  • Skill in understanding both written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to take inventory.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and other HIPAA requirements.

Preferred: Bilingual verbal skills in English and Spanish.
