    Registered Charge Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical Surgical Unit – Nights – Lutz, FL

     

    A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Registered Charge Nurse (RN) to join its Medical/Surgical Surgical Unit. This leadership role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while mentoring staff and promoting clinical excellence in a collaborative acute care environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide direct nursing care to a designated group of medical-surgical patients using the nursing process and established clinical standards

    • Coordinate and oversee daily patient care activities while supporting efficient unit operations

    • Utilize effective leadership and managerial skills to guide patient care delivery

    • Serve as a professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource for nursing team members

    • Delegate appropriate patient care activities and monitor the quality and effectiveness of care delivery

    • Promote evidence-based practice, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives

    • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes

    • Support staff education, professional development, and onboarding initiatives

    • Perform preceptor and charge nurse responsibilities as assigned

    • Demonstrate professional accountability and commitment to continuous learning and improvement

    Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice

    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification if required by the department

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, or an approved RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification required within seven months of hire or promotion

    • Minimum of two years of Registered Nurse experience required

    • Previous leadership experience preferred

    • Nursing specialty certification preferred

    • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills

    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
