About the Role:
Alabama Autism Assistance Program (HANDS)  is looking for a passionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our growing team in Birmingham, AL. In this rewarding role, you'll make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with autism by delivering evidence-based behavioral interventions in a supportive, compassionate environment.



Responsibilities:
  • Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy programs under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Collect and record accurate behavioral data during each therapy session
  • Support clients in developing communication, social, and daily living skills
  • Use positive reinforcement strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and increase adaptive behaviors
  • Maintain detailed session notes and progress documentation in compliance with program standards
  • Collaborate with BCBAs, families, and caregivers to ensure consistency across environments
  • Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and professional development opportunities
Requirements:
  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred
  • Prior experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or developmental disabilities
  • Strong understanding of ABA principles and behavior intervention techniques
  • Excellent communication, patience, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to pass a background check and meet all state and program compliance requirements
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible hours, including afternoons and weekends
