Title: Regional Vice President, Sales
Location: Baltimore, Maryland or Rockville, Maryland (Montgomery County). Both offices are open for the right person.
Reports To: Executive leadership
Compensation: Six figure base in year one, transitioning to a base plus commission structure.
Schedule: Full time. Field based, with a significant ride-along and shadowing period at the start.
About the Role
An established insurance adjusting firm is hiring a Regional Vice President to sell in the Baltimore and Washington metro markets. This is a senior individual contributor sales role rather than a management seat, focused on bringing in new business across both residential and commercial accounts.
The role is field-based and built around new business development. Full training on the product and the claims process is provided.
What You'll Do
- Solicit new business at active loss sites, meeting property owners and decision makers in person.
- Research commercial property ownership and identify existing relationships that can turn a cold lead into a warm one.
- Sell to both individual property owners and commercial and corporate decision makers.
- Talk your way to the right person at large companies and hold a credible conversation once you get there.
- Work a proactive call list and follow up on losses the firm did not win.
- Spend the first stretch shadowing the firm's existing sales team across Baltimore, Rockville, and Atlanta to learn the business.
What We're Looking For
- A real closer. The firm's stated position is that it does not care what you have sold before, only that you can sell.
- Strong phone presence and the ability to talk to anyone from a homeowner at a fire scene to an executive at a large corporation.
- Presents well in person and carries gravitas in the room.
- Genuinely comfortable with field based prospecting and cold outreach.
- Insurance and claims background is not required. The firm will teach the product.
- Personable, outgoing, and connected in the Baltimore or Montgomery County market. Existing local relationships are a real advantage.
- Willing to be tied closely to an experienced team member for the first year in order to learn the business properly.
Compensation and Benefits
- Six-figure base salary in year one.
- Transitions over time to the firm's standard base-plus-commission model, which tilts toward a lower base and higher commission as production ramps.
- Commission structure varies by lead source, covering new business, referrals, inbound calls, and prior clients.
- Full benefits package.
